Events in Newquay Watergate Bay Dog Show on September 11. Watergate Bay has a splendid sandy beach for family enjoyment – in and out of the water – and so many sport activities it’s (almost) impossible to list them all.
It is also a great stretch of sand for walkies with man’s (and woman’s) best friends. On Sunday, September 11, you can have another experience – the opportunity to enter classes in a friendly family dog show which is being held in aid of St Francis Home for Animals. The fun starts at 2pm.
With 10 different classes including best puppy, waggiest tail and best in show, Watergate Bay and St Francis hope to attract every size, shape and breed of four-legged friends to the sand. And there are prizes, too! These will come from sponsors Joules with all class winners receiving Joules vouchers and rosettes while reserve and best in show will receive dog beds.
St Francis Home for Animals has been rescuing and rehoming dogs for more than fifty years. Their kennels are just up the road from Watergate Bay at Trevelgue Road, Porth, TR8 4AT. The staff and volunteers do a brilliant job with the support of public donations, and with your help they hope to keep rehoming dogs across the UK for many more years to come.
