Children’s Hospice South West held their 19th Annual Gig Row at Newquay Harbour on Sunday, July 14.
Community Fundraiser at CHSW, Alice Merrett, reported, “With the sale of raffle tickets and donations given on the day the event has so far raised over £700, with hopefully more donations to come.
“Overall we were so pleased with the number of volunteers who took part – an amazing 14 teams of three novice rowers and one novice cox – and we are so grateful for the continued support from the Newquay Rowing Club and their members who made up the crews, many of whom take part every year.”
Alice concluded, “With 2020 being the CHSW Gig Row’s 20th anniversary we are hoping to make it a bumper year for the event.”
There were 3 heats with 1st and 2nd from each heat going in to the final. The final 6 teams and results from the final were

4 – Newquay Towan Blystra Lions
5 – Newquay Male Voice Choir
6 – St Columb Minor Academy
Other crews that took part were NEWQUAY POLICE; C.R.A.B.; 2 additional crews from ST COLUMB MINOR ACADEMY; CORNISH MAIDS; GIG & TONIC (A CREW FROM PLYMOUTH HSBC); NEWQUAY TOWN COUNCIL GIG TEAM and LADY JANE GERIATRICS
